BIRDS OF A FEATHER celebrates the quirky, the whimsical and the fabulous life of birds - birds in an urban environment and those flying free in the country!
The artists for this exhibition bring their own sense of humour and love of the personalities of birds to life. From the incredibly detailed drawings in black ink of birds in business suits, to dynamic, wildly-colourful, native ceramic birds in costume, counterbalanced by the calming – almost Zen-like – aesthetic of traditional, Indigenous, hand-woven fibres with emu feathers. This exhibition is beautiful and humerous in equal measure.
With an opening punch of colour in the front window, these extroverted birds call you to come in closer and discover their friends! Join us and discover the bold the beautiful, the sophisticated and the quirky birds at STUDIO MV.
Sales from this exhibition support the high school candidates of Moorambilla MAXed OUT Company.

Life with 3 boys
I started drawing birds because people were too hard. Any mistakes I make are easily disguised and there are so many colours to play with.

I love drawing with ink!
My favourite drawings by artists have always been pen and ink, it is so inspiring to see emotion come to life just through lines on a page. I am always striving to achieve this in my own work.

Rough sketches using pencil and acrylic.
These are done with my favourite pens: Copic Multiliner SP drawing pens. I go through them at an alarming rate because I always manage to drop them and break the nib.

Aesop Exhibition 2013
These works were done to accompany the Leichhardt Espresso Chorus concert Aesop’s Fables in 2013. They combine my love of the ancient world and animals displaying humanity.
